It might be in the middle of the Midwest but pleasantly-sized Lincoln has museums of merit, historic sights and is but a short trip away from parks, wildlife and Homestead National Monument.
A bouquet of color seems to follow the Branch River Trail with its 273 lakes and ponds, woodlands and pastures. And the tiny village of Wakefield Corner lures history buffs to its 26 historical landmarks in town and the Museum of Childhood, a treasure trove of antiquated toys that thrills children of all ages.
Branch River Valley Trail originates in the town of Milton; follows Routes 16, 125 and 123, and several local roads; and ends in the town of Wakefield.
