Description
Encircling the most popular waterways in New Hampshire, Lakes Region Tour byway hugs the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. The route, though small, offers a heap of recreational pleasures including swimming, hiking, fishing and boating.
Since numerous snippets of roads make up this route, it's easier to list the cities through which the route passes. Just follow the signs through the following towns, traveling in a clockwise fashion: Alton, Alton Bay,Gilford, Weirs Beach, Meredith, Holderness, Center Harbor, Moultonborough, and ending at the point of origin in Alton.
There are a number of enchanting villages along the way steeped in history,arcades and amusement parks in Weirs Beach, and nature trails at Mt. Major with panoramic views of the shimmering lake.
