Straight out of many a landscape painting, the town of North Conway has long beckoned both artist-types and outdoors enthusiasts come to sketch, summit, ski and scale local mountain peaks.
A modest stone building in Concord houses the Museum of New Hampshire History, a facility with a focus, not surprisingly on state history. Set off Eagle Square, this museum offers visitors a glimpse, through changing exhibits, of all things New Hampshire, from the Appalachian Mountains to fine art, dolls to the presidential primaries. The facility's permanent collection and library contain a further assortment of documents and artifacts associated with the early days of this northern state for interested researchers.
