Description
With a permanent collection of more than 65,000 fine art pieces and artifacts, the Hood Museum of Art is the region's cultural repository for the arts, from oil paintings to Melanesian bone daggers. Journey from ancient history to modernism via New Hampshire's White Moutains, portraiture, Realism, and The Epic of American Civilization, a vibrant mural by artist Jose Clemente Orozco. The Hood Museum of Art, associated with Dartmouth College, also plays host to a range of educational programs, lectures and regularly changing exhibitions that often include work by Dartmouth students.
